A big thank you to the Castle Douglas cycle shop in Church Street.
On a visit to the area last week managed to break both of the matchmakers on my Anthem 29er on a trip round Dalbeattie red route. Ended up cycling half way round with only one gear & half holding the right hand shifter! Still can't understand how I broke both of them.
Dropped into Castle Douglas cycle centre and whilst they didn't have the part they managed to do a "fix" with a metal collar including drilling out the hole.
Worked well & atleast I had 10 gears to work with (& honestly did not need the larger front ring as fairly steep most of the time.)
Got me all the way round Mabie red route.
Also Kirroughtree Break pad shop then had the parts in & fixed immediately for an excellent ride round the red & nearer part of the black route at Kirroughtree.
Thanks again to both stores who show the importance of these places against the large online sites when you need a fix to keep the bike going.
