Why make things consistent when you can be awkward? Front wheel lock ring held on by shimano external bottom bracket tool. Easy.
Rear needs a cassette lock ring tool. I’ve got two of them and neither has enough depth to reach the lock ring over the axle spacer. And the axle spacer is held on by the lock ring. WTF are they not the same?
Anyway - any suggestions as to where to find a cassette tool with an extra deep internal hollow? Obviously its not a spec that anyone is going to list.....
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-cassette-centre-lock-lockring-tool. My old pedros one worked too so I think you've just been unlucky with your two.
Didn't they start off the same then the front became bigger with 20mm axles? My qr wheels both use a cassette lockring tool.
i use as pedros one too.. its hollow all the way through
you can always replace the cassette version with a bb version once you figure out getting it off.
I’ve an Icetools one that fits on my 12mm bolt through and internal Shimano spline.
