I just got around to setting up some 2nd hand wheels I bought (took me nearly a month to buy rim tape) and when trying to get the cassette on I realised the freehub body is pretty mangled and the cassette doesn't slide on. Should I mallet it on or pay a visit to the LBS and get the freehub body replaced?
Clean it up with a file and slide the cassette on.
Guessing it's something with an Alu body, you want a cassette with a spider (e.g. xt) not individual steel cogs.
Don't bash it on with a hammer. you will struggle to get it off!
Clean it up with a file and slide the cassette on.
Do this.

I just used some heavy duty duct tape. Though that was for ghetto tubeless.
