Not really an MTB issue but hopefully somewhat will be able to correct me. I've an old road bike with Campag Record changers and mechs. It has Mavic Cosmic wheels which are knackered and need replacing. The rear has a Dura Ace cassette which I'm hoping to keep as it's got mucho life left in it. Can I just buy a set of Shimano compatible wheels (like the RS80s), fit the cassette and be on my way?
Cheers, Windy
That's not really supposed to be compatible without bodging, the spacing is different. If you're buying new wheels I'd just get some ED10 (Campag) wheels and a proper cassette.
Campag shifters and shimano rear cassettes will not work together. Despite what some people on here will tell you. As njee20 says just get campag wheels and fit a campag casette
Thanks folks - will have to look at what to get. Shame to waste the Dura Ace cassette - may have to put it up for sale.
Cheers, Windy
