Trying to sort out a new cassette and chain. Whats the equivilant Sram to XT ??
Got my eye on a Merlin deal of a 970 cassette and 971 chain, but I dont know how they stack up in terms of quality to an XT setup.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Also, anyone know of any deald on XT shifters ? CRC have a pair for 39.99 which seems cheap so I'm assuming they are either OEM or old stock. I seem to remember seeing a review not long ago that said save your money and go with SLX shifters... just as good.
Any thoughts ??

IIRC (I was looking yesterday) the 970 cassette has separate rings, so not at all suitable with a pro 2 freehub for example. You had to go for the 990 to get one with 5 or 6 cogs on a carrier.
Chains are good though.
