[Closed] Carsington Water, Derbyshire. Surprisingly fun on a bike.

Friend and I stayed the YHA in Ilam over the weekend and we had planned a full day out on the bikes going over the tissington trail to the high peak trail and back again. Unfortunately I couldn't get away till the evening due to family stuff so we ended up just cycling round Carsington water. It's just under 8 miles all the way round and I was expecting a flat canal like path but NO. It was up down up down, round the corner up down up down, lots of fun. The ups weren't horrendous by any means and just as short as the downs. To challenge myself more I ended up trying to go all the ups in the big ring. Lovely views as the sun went down over the lake in the evening and we had a lovely time. There was zero Gnar with made up gravel paths all the way round so recommended for a family ride but with kids who have experience of hills!
