Evening all-

Does anyone have any GPS routes for Carron Valley or Loch Venachar?

I know there are way marked trails at Carron, but after more XC stuff to do in conjunction with the trails.

And anything for the Loch Venachar area would be cracking as well...

Cheers

Paul

Heaps of riding in the Trossachs and Aberfoyle is a good place to start from; lovely deli in on the corner will make fresh rolls as you wait. Oh, and they sell Stornoway black puddin' - the food of Gods.

There's some nice trails hidden away in the woods above Aberfoyle itself, and Ben Venue is a good descent.

Not been there in years, must go back.

Carron Valley is terminally boring tbh. I realise its all subjective but I would rather park at Queen Elizabeth car park and make my way over to Loch Venacher and back any day of the week.

Park in the QE car park and follow the trail upwards for a good bit (technical term) bit of bikey hikey on the same way marked trail, perhaps other better informed folk on here could give it a name? over a few stiles descend to Loch Venacher climb back over the Dukes (off road) back to car park. Sorry to be so vague but once youre riding it it will become clear. Just follow the path its fairly clear. 🙂

I think this is maybe what merak means? I normally head down to calendar for a bit of cake mid-way.

The Menteith hills footpath will be a serious bogfest unless it has been armoured...
