[Closed] Carrera Vulcan or Rockrider 5.3

Mate is after a bike, wants to buy new and use it as a base to upgrade and use and abuse for 12 months then get a new more expensive bike. Will be used for trail centres like Gisburn. Darwen moor, rivington and local twisty woodland trails. Which would be a better base to work on. He tried my old Carrera Vulcan 09 and didn't like it but liked my missus cannondale Sl5. So which is similar to the SL5 out of the above two.
