I wonder if anyone can give a little route advise please . As per title im guessing you can get to Carnedd Llewelyn if you carry on past Drum and kind of keep going . https://explore.osmaps.com/route/7055393/llanfairfechan-golf-club--carnedd-llewelyn-and-back?lat=53.21765&lon=-3.91591&zoom=11.7081&style=Standard&type=2d Â

Has anyone ridden this? As im contemplating adding this to the Romas and Druids ride around Rowan .Â

Watching with interest
I think I scouted this on satellite and walking websites a while back and it looked like bloody hard work in places from Drum to the Carnedd ridge path.
This might help:Â

I have walked that in the past, can't say I would fancy trying to ride it. Would be a fair bit of hikeabike if I remember right
It's just a grassy climb. Probably a push too.Â
I have looked a this a few times. Even from the top of Drum looks rubbish.Â
I have also been over carnedd llewlyn from pen yr helg du and over to carnedd Daffyd on a bike was rubbish. Lots of pushing.Â
I grew up near there. This is a much better route..

Thanks mrchrist  . I parked in the Ogwen vally by Llyn last year and walked over Pen yr own wen to Dyfydd and on to Llewlyn and often thought can I grab this from Drum . It looks like unless I got back in time a few weeks when it was dry it may not be worth bothering with. Â
Â
Id be interested to know a little more on the above route please 🙂Â
It is exceptional.Â
Some amazing single track to begin, then a slog over to the bottom of drum and then it becomes amazing.Â
Not of messing around, river crossing, hop over a wall and pick up a fire road climb.Â
Aces descent to Aber falls. Nice traverse climb out to the coast. Steep and tech FP to the valley floor.Â
Hoof over to the beach. Ride along the shore line to llanfairfecam, pick up the national cycle route above the a55 to the bottom of the synchnat pass.Â
Steep climb up that, round the back of Coney MTN then a fast ridge line descent with a castle to the right and the Irish sea to the left.Â
Amazing day out.Â
I've done this as far as Foel Grach, the top before Lewellyn - it is a mighty climb, 3000ft straight up from the seaside, and almost all rideable. There's a painful (but rideable) short steep section right near the start of the mountain, and then the pull up to Foel Fras after Drum is a push up a steep grassy hillside.
I then dropped down to Cwm Eigiau (path on the map) which was mediocre - great scenery but 1500ft of very average riding. Rode back round to the front of the mountain and back down (v fast non tech descent). Enjoyed the ride overall due to the majestic climb, but descent was lacking.
There's meant to be some hardcore lines straight over Lewellyn and down to the valley beyond, but you'd be a long way from where you started.
Sorry for the delay. There's loads of detail on this thread...

Sadly the photos don't show any more, but if you click the links they will doÂ
Shout if you want company on the ride, I'd like to get there again with less snow!
Great write up . When I get in later the Maps coming out again. Â
