so heading up to aviemore the weekend after next for a few days, and i've go this in my sights(really is about time i ticked this one off!).

Just looking for a wee bit of info in getting over to it, plan is obviously head up by loch gamhna, bothy single track, then over to feshie bridge. But what the best route to take from there, I see 2 options:

1. Can on up the east side of the river on the road towards the single track you will finish on, but at the end of the CBM descent, is the single track that takes you over to the fireroad up the mountian ok on that side?

2. go on to the single/double tracks on the west side of the river and carry on up that way, but i've read there's a bridge that is washed away, which one is it? the one at the bottom of the fire road (carnachuin) or the one closer to feshiebridge?

cheers for any info.

The upper bridge is the one that was washed away.

The single track from Achlean is the way to go.

You'll likely have issues with snow. There is currently a fair amount above 8/900m. The forecast is for more cold weather and more snow at this height. I'd say it will be unridable until there is another good spell of warmish weather.

I'm predicting wall to wall sunshine for the bank holiday weekend! there will be no talk of snow! 😀

But worst comes to the worst I'll just nip in and explore more tracks on the other side of the river, found some cracking stuff in there last year, so not as if i need to stick to just this, not really making any solid plans tbh, just getting some ideas together and I do fancy it, never done an actual munro before. But I've probably got a good few hundred miles of GPX files, so I'll not be short on ideas anyhow..

other stuff I intend to have a look at are an up and down off the larig grhu, badaguish trails, and the the ryoan pass and having my first foray into the tracks towards the nethy bridge side of things and there's a few things across the A9 i want to be having a look at too as well as the burma road. I'll not be stuck, up late on the friday, leave late on the monday, so plenty of exploring to be done!

I'll be sitting in the pub knackered long before I run out of ideas!

Interesting....

I'm heading up to Aviemore and the Cairngorms during the Bank Holiday weekend also. I'm considering riding the Glen Feshie route and adding on Carn Ban Mor.

The route I have starts near Auchlean and follows the river down to Carnachuin Bridge before turning left and climbing up to the top. Problem is, where does it descend back down to? Also, is the Carnachiun Bridge the one that got washed away?
