Loving my new cheapo rigid ss and fancy building something extra light for next year. I fancy a carbon frame with dropout options in case I stop feeling the single speed love.

Is there anything on the Chinese frame market better than a Lurcher? I'm going for a rigid carbon fork but would still appreciate the ability to go suss if wanted.

My c456 was good running singlespeed - do they still have the swapout dropouts?

c456 would be a bit AM for singlespeed perhaps, but you can run it as one. Lurcher seems to be the current On One carbon SS of choice for 29er. Personally I'm not keen on the look of it. The curvy tubes aren't my thing. Likewise the 'evo' version of the c456 I'm not keen on the bend in the top tube. I'm sure it rides fine though. Does have swapouts.

Of One One stuff, for SS I'd consider the Whippet if you are okay with 26". Downside is pressfit BB (I guess to "save weight" 🙄 ), and a front mech direct mount on there that you don't need. I find them a little ugly but probably not noticeable when riding.

Doubt you're going to get a Chinese cheapy of quality less than On One's prices.

My lurcher thread

I've only ridden it once but it was great and I reckon I'm already faster on it than I was on my Swift which I've been really happy with.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure that at 5' 10" an 18" is right for me.
