Plastic shim probably isn't helping matters. Would it be possible to use alittle face scrub to help provide 'grip'?
Carbon paste - is it ok with Easton EC70 Posts though? I.e delamenation.
Carbon paste tends to be OK with carbon (there's a clue in the name!)
Superglue.
+1 for carbon paste.

8quid for paste..
I reckon toothpaste might work. At the very least it will solve any bad breath and gum disease worries you might have haf about the bike
Carbon Paste, £8 and you'll only use it a few times, but then you'll need it for other bikes you will buy.
😉
Toothpaste. My like
8 quid to stop your seatpost slipping and constantly annoying you.
Seems cheap to me.
Works on a Thomson post too
Lose some weight?
Buy a frame that fits the post?
Sell it & move on while you can.
Sand is cheaper
How much for the post, is it 27.2?
Try talcum powder.
So there is no cheaper way then. No ones thought leftfield? 🙄
£8 for a tub of paste that'll last years means that 'leftfield' thinking is going to leave you no richer but with a seatpost that won't come out the frame in 6 months time as it's stuck fast.
How much? Its a special one. A carbon dropper-post 😆 😀

I need to get that eye test booked. Was wondering what you were going to do with the squid.....
I'm glad I bought my carbon paste years back, when it was only 5squids.
You could "borrow" some off one of your mates that paid £8squids for it couldn't you? Save you buying it, but your mate had the outlay..
HTH
😆
You could try just wrapping a bit of electrical tape around the base of the post, can be enough to stop it slipping.
So there is no cheaper way then.
You want to put some kind of monkeyspunk and sand bodge in your seatube for the sake of 8 squids.
If you'd splashed out on a Santacruz carbon fashionbike you'd have got a couple of little tubes of it free. 😉
Hair spray?
lenth of wood dowelling down seat tube
