Mate is looking to make his rigid Mtb a bit comfier due to some back challenges.

Basically just needs bit of flex in post.

I run Fsa carbon on my Kinesis xc pro 2 which also has carbon seat stays. It's v comfy.

He is over 75kg so the same Fsa post is no go for him.

However he is looking at Use post either carbon or Ti.

So, Ti offer a bit of flex or stick to carbon?

Carbon IMO, although I wouldn't touch a USE post either :p Has he checked out the Canyon VCLS ones?

In a similar situation myself (but under 70kg 😉 ), what's the beef with the USE carbon posts? Nearly bought one last week and still hadn't ruled one out...

I've got 3 Ti posts - 2 Van Nics and a Lynskey ran a carbon post on a c456.

I'd say Ti has a lot more 'spring' than a carbon post but you get a similar level of vibration damping with carbon.

on balance I prefer the Ti but you do have to be prepared to accept running a silver seatpost 😉

I've got an 8 year old USE carbon post on my road bike, it's still perfect.
