Anybody using carbon mtb cranks ie sram xx or fsa 386 slk, am thinking of an upgrade but would like any real world experiences first thanks
I've got BB30 FSA K Force Light on my Whyte 19 ti SS, they're light, stiff and I've not had any problems in a couple of years riding it.
xx on both mtbs and just as good as double xtr
Have FSA k-force light on mine, no issues in the few months I have had them. Seem stiff, can't say they are stiffer than previous shimano ones I have used but it was the weight that was the thing I was after.
XO's very stiff, probably light never taken them off to check. They get duffed up quick though which is a little heartbreaking.

FSA K-Force triple on my Whyte 19 and no problems at all - don't feel any different to the XTRs on my ML8
Had XX last year, and S-Works FACT carbon ones before that. They're fine, as with any component the material is not necessarily linked to the quality!
FSA ones are notorious for failing at the pedal insert.
Carbon cranks on my Spesh Enduro, been perfect. No issues to report at all.
Used then for the last 4 years, now on my 3rd set of FSA k-force crank arms, the last 2 set failed as the pedal insert came loose. Hopefully won't happen again, good on FSA for replacing them FOC, happy with them myself.
Like Bream, had FSA k-force lites for a couple of years, went through 4 sets on warranty as the pedal insert failed...apparently the carbon bonding to metal doesn't work very well in ares of high loading stress. But hopefully FSA have sorted out the issue?!
Now have some Cannondale SI cranks - floaty light, super stiff, no carbon 🙂
XX on my Mojo for the last 12 months. Had to put helicopter tape on them as it appeared I was knocking chunks off the surface of them after a couple of months hard use 🙁 . Still going strong even though I am now knocking chunks out of the helicopter tape (don't take the smoothest lines through rock gardens 🙂 )
Using Race Face Next SL cranks for a few years. First set had a cracked spider arm which RF replaced, second set have been fine.
