Been considering the Zipp 303 S wheels, but am a little put off by the weight limit (115kg) as me plus bike is probably only 5-10kg below that, and I like a bit more margin for error. Hunt do a slightly more expensive carbon gravel wheelset (gravel carbon x-wide) with a 120kg rider weight limit, but have some oddly strict max tyre pressures, which also put me off slighgly, 40psi limit for the 45c tyres I run, again, I'm often very close to that depending on terrain.
Any big lads out there riding either wheelset?
Hmm... reading more, seems Hunt's new hookless option has none of the pressure worries, and is actually a little cheaper.... anyone using those?
I always assumed weight limit was rider weight, not total weight.
Scribe wheels? Or the light carbon ones from JRA?
I have some older rim 303’s on my road bike and they are beautiful things!
Very fast and feel absolutely bomb proof
I looked at Hunt at the same time and glad I went for Zipp instead. Spendy but very nice
The only negative of the rim version is that you do get brake rub if honking out of the saddle but otherwise they are super stiff but at the same time very comfortable
