You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Mrs B's originally 2nd hand frame has a wear issue on the non drive side drop-out which I would like to get fixed.
It looks like the carbon needs built up again - to allow the QR skewer to get enough to bite onto and avoid the wheel moving under certain circumstances.
Has anyone used any folks in the UK recently which they would recommend?
Thanks in advance.
Oh, older Scott Scale carbon frame with qr drop-outs.
I've sent people to Phil @ Target Composites and they've been happy with the results.

Currently waiting for a YT Jeffsy to be rebuilt after a repair by Carbon Bike Repair, they've sent pics of the frame since and the repair looks to be spot on, not painted as it's under a downtube guard and won't be seen. They have, however, managed to lose/misplace a part of the main pivot assembly and have been unable to reassemble the frame as of today. I sent the frame pre lockdown so a delay was to be expected but a 3 week turnaround is now into its 3rd month, although they say the replacement part should arrive any day I'm not holding my breath. From looking at their website/Instagram profile it would seem they do more road frames than mtbs
+1 for Target. I recently had a smashed carbon chainstay repaired. They weren’t the cheapest when compared to one man in his garage at the back of the house but he has all the gear, a purpose built shop and Phil is honest and straight talking.
What you’ll find is a lot of the repair companies have hidden extras, they don’t include VAT and don’t include a matching paint finish and are just giving you a base price. Phil will offer you every level of repair and offer to match the decals if need them too.
He also managed to get my rear triangle back to me in the first week of lock down so I had something to do for a couple of weeks.
...thought I’d add that Target quoted a 3 week turnaround and stuck to it but he does do a lot of repairs for the dark side roadies and given how many are on the road right now I suspect there maybe a longer waiting list.
I used Carbon Bike Repair to repair damage to my Kona Hei Hei Race DL frame bottom bracket shell from a shattered crank axle, which ripped the drive side bottom bracket bearing out of the frame. The repair was very good, the frame came back looking like it had never been damaged. The bike has done approx 270 miles since the repair, I've had no issues with the repaired area.
If you are in or around Leeds or can drive to drop off and pick up then try carbonwasp.com for simple carbon repair if you aren't bothered about a respray/cover up... Normally a week turn around depending on complexity.
(Disclaimer, I work there. Never had any complaints.)
I've just got a frame back from Carbon Bike Repair. There was a scrape out of the top tube which had damaged the first few layers of carbon. Communication was excellent and repair is spot on, damaged area looks and feels brand new. Took a bit over 5 weeks but I understand there was quite a backlog when they reopened after shutting for the virus. It was quite expensive for such a small repair but I don't really know what the going rate is or how much work was involved. Obviously would have been considerably cheaper if not painted to match.
