As above, really!

Will I/my bike die?

Had loads of carbon bikes in mine and I only died twice.

It's what I carry mine in when I need to although that doesn't mean anything other than whatever does or does not happen to mine will happen to yours also.

Depends on the frame I reckon.

My 456c handles it no problem.

Yep, no worries at all, used a 591 with my carbon Enduro for 5 years with no issue and now using it with carbon stumpy.

Just to stop scratching when the bike or clamp is muddy I put a couple of strips of thick heli tape at the contact points above and below the downtube.

I used to have the 581c. It was ideal with a special torqueometer in the ratchet to preven overtightening onto carbon frame, one of the best things they made IMO.

They don't make them anymore and I suspect anyone who has one won't sell it second hand as they are just that good, they out-do sales of even the newer models.

That'd be the one to buy as it's be the only one that gives you 100% confidence but hey, you can't.

Hope that helps CFH.

Oh, almost forgot... 😉 🙂
