Hi all, bit of a long shot this but does anyone know if Carbon Fibre Solutions in Southport are still trading/ active? Website etc. is up and running but no updates or posts for a little while. I've tried contacting them via email, facebook etc. and the site specifically states a quick response time but so far nothing. I don't want to keep hanging on if they're not around anymore but don't want to have to go to the next carbon bike repair place, which is a bit of a distance, if they are still operational!
Anyone know anything? Cheers for any info!
Don't know anything about them, but I live there so if you have an address I'll have a ride round for a looksee?
Cheers, that's a kind offer but I think it's just a regular house front rather than a shop or business unit so I'm not sure you could tell. I was hoping someone had used them as it all seems a bit quiet.
Right, I've been and spoken to the guy. As you say it's just a normal house. Detached and built in Victorian/Edwardian era. Once a posh part of town, nowadays less so, but it is still a perfectly repectable area. Far from being a sink estate or habited by chaves and their ilk.
I couldn't see properly but there is a reasonably new workshop round the back with a fairly new Range Rover parked outside. I never went that far as the guy came to the front door.
Inside his porch was a bike box wrapped up and awaiting collection this afternoon. Inside the house were two more boxes that he said were received yesterday.
The guy came across as a genuine, normal guy. He is working and has as much work as he needs. He did mention a couple of guys from the local club he has worked for, and I knew their names. His website is up and running, he answers his phone and aims to reply to e-mails within 2 days max.
I showed him your post which meant nothing to him, but we assume that "monkeeknutz" doesn't appear on your e-mail address!
He doesn't come on forums because of the potential for long winded discussions that go nowhere - we've all seen them!
From what I've seen the guy is a genuine, straight guy running a normal business. He was quite open and friendly and didn't give the impression that he was trying to hide anything. He has no idea why you are having trouble contacting him.
Of course he may be the best conman going, but I felt comfortable talking to him.
Over to you......
Wow! That is definitely above and beyond! Thanks very much. I never suspected he was dodgy as such, more he wasn’t working anymore. But thanks for checking it out. I’ll give him a ring, I suppose like a lot of folk nowadays my first thought is email to avoid actually having to speak to someone in person 🤐
