It's quite possible I will be shortly in the market for a new 29 HT for racing. But I do want to do other stuff on it so a reasonably slack 120/130mm forked lightweight would be ideal.

Has to be 29
Has to have a screw thread BB.

Would sooner something a little different. Am considering a Sonder Transmitter Carbon frame and running it with 29 wheels. But Sonder tell me that it limits clearance to 2.2 and also raises the BB (to how big a detriment, I don't know).

Anything of a similar nature and weight (1100g frame)?

Frame price needs to be within a grand!

Am on a similar search, though happy with 70 degree HA as it is the same as my current alloy frame (FF29). Best I have found so far is a BXT frame direct from China but have not convinced myself to risk it yet. Although for under £200 I think I may give it a go. What is the worst that can happen? 🙂

Welshfarmer- worst that can happen? How about it breaks on the first ride and you have decide between writing off the the £200 or doing a DIY repair? https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/cracked-chinese-carbon-29er-frame-sob-what-to-do-thread/. LOL.

Exact same geometry as the BXT, probably same factory. FWIW I went for DIY repair and now more comfortable with the frame.

Having done more research now I would buy a Chinese carbon frame but would be more careful. I'd avoid the eBay sellers and go with someone closer the factory. There's been a couple of threads recently with tips.

Can't help but it does seem to have been a gap in the market for ages.

Something like the old on-one c456 with wagon wheels would be spot-on, eh?

I'm rather pleased with my transition vanquish. 1300g, 120mm fork. Feels fast as **** but I come from a burlier bouncier background so maybe all hard tails would feel quick by comparison.

What was the ugly as hell on one? That seemed to fit the bill well
