Recently proper got into being a dad (2 kids) Sold my boy racer cars, got a Mondeo and Berlingo.

Just bought a caravan. The seats are not too floral. Should be fun.

Where do you safely and securely store your bikes when pitched up and towing?

I can't use the berlingo sadly as it's permissible towbar weight and power is teetering on the unsafe side for caravan towing so Mondeo with tiny boot it is.

Thanks.

Towing - on the roof of the car.  I stopped putting them in the caravan as they are a PITA to get in and out, which makes it a pain if you want to stop for lunch; and they bounce around and kick the crap out of your van interior.

When pitched up, I have a long lock that goes through the A frame and around all the bikes.

As above travel with bikes on the roof but when pitched up we have an awning so with an approved lock for insurance reasons we lock the bikes through each frame then through the alloy wheel of the van.

We have a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian that sleep in van so we have ready made burglar alarm 😃

Towing-was on top of car but now have a Galaxy so inside the car.

(Our caravan has the fittings for a Thule rack on the back but I’m wary of that much weight all the way back there).

When pitched either in awning locked to chassis or outside locked to a frame.

Ok. Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a decent long lock for the frame and two bikes?

We put a towbar bike rack in the van (on a mat qith the cushions placed at the back) bikes go on the rack and don't rattle about.

Locked up in the awning, or left in the car if we cant be bothered to use the awning.

I have seen a rack that goes on the A frame at the front.

Motorcycle chain lock. The cable locks are too easy to cut through. The bike chain locks are ok but tendnto be to short and a smaller link size as they need to be not too heavy to be carriable.
