I have a good calibrated dial gauge for my car that only works for Schrader valves. Is there an adapter that can make it read the pressure out of my bike's Presta valves? Thanks.
Doubt it as it's a completely different valve operation. Presta required the air going in to be measured for PSI, not out.
Not that I can think of but also, what's the benefit? So long as the reading on your presta gauge is specific and repeatable the numbers don't really matter assuming it's not reading 8psi instead of 800.
Don't you just need an adaptor like this?
Although thinking about it - will the schrader valve on the gauge be able to press down the middle of the presta valve to allow it to read? I'm not sure, but for £1.99 I'd probably give it a go.
Thx, I have one of those adapters but it doesn't help sadly. I can't use the gauge on my presta pump as it's not giving consistent results, it's been broken for years. Will order a Lifeline gauge, seems OK for £10.
Thanks all.
