Just had my five stolen from my van yesterday. Looking to buy a Capra to replace it.
Question is large or xl. Top tube looks a better length on xl but anyone had any experience with it? I'm 6 foot,
Have ridden a 18inch five for the past few years. Cheers

What year Five did you have? As the reach has changed over the years and would be a good quide as to which you would prefer.

The XL's donn't arrive till October though? SO quite a while to wait!

There is a massive thread, 1100 pages of it, on pinkbike. I'd suggest you use the search on there and fill yer boots.

FWIW I'm 6'2" (or just under..) and have ordered a Large, as I spent an afternoon searching as well as comparing geometry charts against my other bikes.

Had 2009 five and compared the geo, looks more like a large Capra. But I've ridden my mates new 5 large frame and it's bro is closer to the xl, just worried might look huge.
It says on website xl is in stock, I'm only buying the Alu budget model. Funds won't allow better.

I'm 6' and a large for me perfectly. I've come from a large 2008 Enduro and always liked a high cockpit, so was worried that the low front on the Capra would be an issue - it isn't, but the lower BB helps that. I think the shorter reach suits my body type though - long legs, short torso

I'm 6ft and on a large. I wouldn't want it any bigger.

6ft 1 here and found the large wayyy too small. XL was spot on though.

The geometry is very similar to a spesh enduro, if you can find one of these to sit on nearby.

I'm 6 foot and have a Large Capra. It seems just right to me.

Son has an XL. He's 6'1" with long legs and at first he thought it too small. Old bike was a XL Stumpy from around 2012 and seemed huge compared to the YT.

6ft 1" here and have an XL - size spot on for me (any bigger in the saddle height and I might struggle - but I have relatively short legs for my height!)

Thanks for all the replies and advise.
After much thought I've ordered a large, luckily for me as xl had sold out before I'd made a decision.
Made the order but for some reason haven't made any Payment, I've emailed them to querie, fingers crossed.

They email you with payment instructions separately, usually within a day or 2.

I'm 5 foot 11 and ride a Large - fits perfectly. I tired a few mediums and they felt way too small.

my AL1 in Large flavour came yesterday, quickly swapped brakes over, Mary on the front, bit of cable rub protection, Rockguard fitted... And only managed a car park test!.

I'm 6'2", wouldn't say I'm particularly long of leg over torso or vice versa. bike seems a good fit, my first time using SRAM shifting since they went 1x11, seems nice and crisp too.

I was a wee bit worried that the 150mm reverb was going to make the seatpost too high for me, as it has quite a high mast as it is, but no, I've got about 15mm of post out, so alright there too.

Maiden voyage will be Tweedlove international on Saturday, in for a penny.... 😆

Just realised my last message was cut short for some reason.

Good to hear it all seems good, specially the fit.

How was the maiden voyage then?
