You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I have a few weeks off (3) in late September-early October and was thinking about just renting somewhere in Capileira (Alpujarras) for that time and dicking around on my bike basically. I know Switchbacks are just down the mountain in Bubion and that looks cool, but I don't want the structure of a guided mountain bike holiday - I just want to chill and ride a bit when I feel like it. Does the area lend itself to this - can I just hop on a bike and find good stuff (I remember from walking there before that the maps are rubbish) or will I likely have to pay a guide - will Switchbacks entertain an ad-hoc arrangement like this? Is all the good riding in the Poqueira gorge itself? And will it be really cold or even snowy at this time of year? Thanks
Monring bump...I know lots of people know the area...
Have a word with Ciclo Montana.
They do day rates I think.
I reckon thats the best way to do it.
You will just end up looking at maps and wasting time and being unsure of where you are!
It will be cold up the top but I think it depends on the weather conditions of that particular day/week.
