Perhaps wrong forum but does anyone have any experience of the acros headset on the canyon ultimates. I have a 2019 cf sl with the aero cockpit.

I’m have replaced the bearings and I’m having a hell of a time gett8ng the pressure right. Too tight an the bars are stiff and too loose and there’s is the rocking play.

Also does the lower bearing not have a lower bearing race. Mine just seems t see on the fork steerer it’s self.

I have all these questions and more sent to canyon but I won’t hear back until Tuesday no doubt.

Any help appreciated.

Yeah, there's a particular way of tightening them up. One of the guys in the service centre took me through it when I got my frame replaced.

Typically I haven't had to do it since and I've forgotten.

He did say a lot of people struggle. I did suggest better instructions would br helpful.

Sorry to be so unhelpful.

Is it the one with a compression ring that you do up? I just got a shop to replace it with a top cap based solution and have had zero problems since. This is on a 2014 model though so not sure if it’s the same thing.

I had a 2015 model with the acros headset. Only time I had an issue with it The tops cups had become slightly misaligned and as such wouldn't preload the bearing. Simply realigned the 2 cups so that there was no gap, then tightened with the t6 key.
