Haven't Canyon done away with "normal" or is that just for the carbon frames....?

I'm 5'7" like you. Stopped off at Canyon HQ on my way home one time and managed to have a ride on Small Normal, a Small Race (same as a Normal Medium) and a Medium Race.

Small Normal was a touch too small even with the longer stem and I wanted something longer/roomier than my DB Alone.

Medium Race felt too long so I ended up with a Small Race.

Looking back I possibly could have gone for the Medium Race and run the saddle really far forward, but wouldn't have had as much room for the downs as the seat tube would have been that little bit longer. (GF has a Medium Trance but we swapped the 70mm stem for a 35mm one and run the saddle further forward (steepening the seat tube angle) but the top tube/seat tube is relatively low so it works for her despite the fact she is 5'6".)

As it is I'm happy with my choice. My riding is pretty much 95% big mountain stuff in the Alps and have been all over the Pyrenees and Alps with it this summer. Everything from bike parks, Enduro trails, 2000m climbs, slow techy for paths, to the bakers etc...

It hasn't left me feeling disappointed.

I'm maybe 5' 8" at a push, and am on the med race. Geometry wise I dont have any issues - the only 'squeeze' is running a 150mm dropper - there is not much clearance in the frame for me. Seat is middle diddle on the post. I'm about a 30" inside leg. No chance to 'get your leg over' one?

I'm 5ft 8in on a good day, just about fit on the large race.

I wouldn't go for the small if I were you.
