Hi all,
I’m getting sorely tempted by a Canyon Strive through the bike to work scheme. According to Canyon at 5 foot 9 and an instep of 80cm I could go with a medium or a small. I’ve always had medium bikes and surprised by the suggestion of small, however with reach adjustment available I’m thinking a size small set for longer reach might make for a more manoeuvrable bike compared to a medium with the shorter reach setting.
However….I have heard that Canyon seem to recommend smaller sizes than may manufacturers and was wondering if anyone has real world experience of how the Strive rides in real life, particularly if you happen to be about the same size as me.
Thanks in advance!
Andrew
I was having a nosey at the Neuron (I think...29 130mm travel thing)...suggested a medium or large and then seemed set on large when I went to the actual model.
I've longish legs and arms so my saddle is way up and I'm normally bent over to the bars - like 90s race MTBs...exactly like that. I reckon large would be right, but would hope the height difference between saddle and bars wasn't as great as it is on my current bike. On a medium I'd guess it was even greater and that wouldn't be right.
Not sure what you’re saying but thanks anyway! The main thing I guess is whether they size big and therefore a small might be a good option for my size.
I'm not sure either, other than I think going down a size might not fit as well if you are lanky in arms and legs.
Compare the reach, stack and ETT to the bike(s) you already own. But the Strives are big, size for size!
Good plan, I shall try and do a direct comparison. I’m definitely not lanky though!
That was useful! Based on that I need a small.
