I've seen a few people on here who've bought Canyon MTB's and the experiences seem pretty good so far. I was looking for a new MTB for a mate the other day and think i'm going with a Yellowstone 5.0 for him (bargaintastic). They unfortunately don't do any 29ers but i did notice the roadbikes and especially the two i've linked to below which have got me interested, particularly as they do a 66cm frame (with a no doubt beautiful to behold 230mm steerer tube!!). Anybody bought or seen one of their road bikes? The value seems unbeatable, particularly the cheaper of the two (which i'm leaning towards) which is only different by a few bits of Ultegra. I priced up the 6.0 model spec on Merlin and it came to well over £900 without including anything for the frame and fork which is pretty amazing.

Any views from the STW massive? Also no point in recommending alternatives because it's primarily the frame size which is the appealing factor and apart from Koga i don't know of any other manufacturers who go this big. I'm currently squeezed onto a 63cm 2002 Trek 1500 is that has any bearing?
Thanks

Slightly OT but I have a friend who has a high end road bike from them. Loves it, very stiff and light.

He had good experience with their customer services too. His carbon frame developed a blister on the seat tube so he rang them to ask about it and they simply told him to send it back and replaced it, no questions asked.

I got a Canyon mtb, Lux MR. Very very happy with it, spec and build quality are strong. Customer service very helpful, it is a bit of a leap of faith buying a bike on-line but I'd say buy with confidence.

MrTall - a mate bought something the same/identical last year, and loves it, and the value is top notch. His only feedback was that their bike sizing gizmo on the website wasn't particularly good. But if you have an idea of your current geometry and what you need, you'll be fine. Buy one - i will when i get the cash together.

I gave in last night and ordered one anyway. £916 all in for a decent carbon forked bike equipped with full 105/Ultegra, Mavic Wheels and Ritchey kit seems way cheaper than any of the competition and the fact they offer silly sizes for freaks like me sealed the deal.

No idea when it'll turn up though but i'm guessing they'll let me know at some stage.

Mcboo - how long did yours take to show up?

I'll be keeping a close eye out to see if they add any 29ers to their range in the future.....

Guess it's a bit late now 🙂 but I spotted two Canyons at the Fred Whitton a couple of weekends ago - looked very nice in the flesh, I'd have one.

MrTall...mine only took a week or so, was expecting 3 weeks but then it showed up.

fatmax is right on the sizing tool on the website. I'm 6'3, they told me L, was right on the cusp of XL....I needed the big one. Is useful but not foolproof.

Stick up some photos when it arrives....
