I'm 191.5cm tall, and using Canyon's website, this would put me on a Large Neuron.

All my other bikes come up as XL's. Does anyone have real world experience of either buying a Canyon bike at the very top / bottom end of the size range or whether I should ignore the size finder and go with an XL

I ride a medium Lux Trail. I'm 6ft - so I'm also right at the very top of the sizing recommendation.

It fits perfectly - I'm glad I went with the Canyon website rather than my own view that I'd need a large.

In the specific case of the Lux Trail, all the 'bad' reviews I've seen were from shorter riders than me riding a large...

Germans are taller, you’re only a large German though you might be an XL Brit. German mean male is 5cm taller than a Brit.

You'll want an XL. See my response in this thread

I am 5’ 8” and ride a medium.  I went to the Canyon test center in Surrey Hills ,  had to pay a fee to test ride a number of bikes for the day but got it back when I bought one.

I had the same experience with Canyon road bikes. According to the website, I would need a Small (I'm 5ft 9in and normally ride a 54cm road bike and a MLarge mountain bike...) - after much dithering, I ordered a Small and it fits perfectly and I wouldn't want a bigger frame. As @goldfish24 says, you might be XL but you'll only ever be a large German 🙂
