Hello everyone

I am considering to buy a Canyon-MTB. Mostly I will be doing non-technical uphills in order to build and strengthen my muscles, so I need something light. I narrowed the list down to the following models:

Exceed CF SLX 8.9

Grand Canyon CF SL 8.9

Exceed CF SL 9.9

I would appreciate If somebody could tell me which model fits my requirements better.

Regards,
Ali

If you want to get stronger.... Get a heavier bike! Possibly single speed!

Probably would help to know a bit more about what you want the bike for.

Lots of other alternatives to the canyon in the UK (depends where you are)

If you are going to be riding dull climbs all the time in the interest of fitness/strength, why not just get a road bike?

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I live in Switzerland.

At the moment, I have a heavy-MTB and it is not fun riding it.

A while ago I tested a CF Canyon and it was really nice. Thus, I am considering to buy only Canyon.

As my weight is almost 100 kg, I am looking for a bike that I could do the uphills easily.

Any one of those would be fine for what you want. More a question about price and what forks/kit you prefer.

Don't buy a canyon. Although the bikes ride well their customer service is shockingly bad. I have had a canyon for 12 months and all email conversations take forever due to a 3/4 day response time for each email. Canyon is a company i would stay well away from. Even if you do pay for one you'll probably have to wait 6 months for delvery and then it will be the wrong size.

For starters don't look at canyon look at purecycling.ch, you won't get canyon in Switzerland and their Swiss range under that brand isn't quite the same and stock levels are different.

Hard tails you'll be fine with canyon from a service point of view, just look at the numbers well to pick the right size. Tobel is a good xc bike and the exceeds really nice. Pick the one that suits your budget best!
