I'm thinking of getting one of these. Does anyone have one to comment on? Or a similar Grand Canyon 29er?

I know they are light and have a good spec. Anyone got any other options for similar money?

Hi Swoosh

I currently have an (extensively upgraded) Canyon Grand Canyon AL 9.9 up for sale at £795. Absolutely brilliant bike but circumstances mean I am reducing down from 3 bikes to one. Drop me an email if you are interested or want any more info. Mine has been ridden in the Peak District and is a great', and very quick bike that can handle pretty much anything.

As a Strive owner the bike will undoubtedly be a great ride but you need to think carefully about how you will feel when there is a problem with the bike. I have a carbon model which was £4k and has started turning white on the downtube. It is water getting under the laquer. It was sent back for warranty and they said i must have washed it to much and refused to replace it. I'm currently taking them to the small claims court. So my advice is buy from a different company and save yourself a lot of hassle.

The Al 6.9 is good value, not that keen on the triple, big wait times on that one. The boardman Pro 29er is definitely worth a look, probably even pick that up a bit cheaper with various halfords discounts when they pop up, arguably better spec

I've got a boardman FS pro, one of the first generation type, and have been very happy with it. The boardman will have to go to make was for the hard tail 29er I buy.

I've got one, few years old now...used it as my work commute bike and no complaints. It done everything I needed it to do. Its now sitting in pieces as I've gone back to a short travel fs and just swapped the components over.

Out of interest, how does that work? Surely the sale was done in Germany so you'd need to go to a German court?
