Anyone know how accurate the weights are on the canyon bike website?

probably ok for a small, within 10% - which is a lot nearer than most of the 'under 30lbs' post we get on here

My Nerve XC 9 is supposed to be 11 kg or so. I will have a check and weigh it for you if that is of any help. What bike are you thinking about buying?

Thanks Dogsby. Looking at the XC 9.0 but can't decide whether to get that or a lower spec and swap some kit off my current bike. How you getting on with yours?

Danno, I really like it but I have probably done about 40kms on it since I bought it about six weeks ago as I have had a injury that has kept me off of the bike. I changed the grips to lock-ons and changed the seatpost and saddle but apart from that I have been really pleased with the spec and also the service from Canyon. I managed to get down to their factory and they were very helpful and I was able to try the large and a medium before settling on the medium. I will get it on the scales tonight.

Pretty sure I'll go for the medium as I'm 5'11. What height are you?

Danno,

I am just over 5'11 and the medium seems fine for me. I have just weighed the bike and it is 12.22kg with the original saddle and post, a pair of XT trail pedals and my superstar lock-ons. With a Thompson post and Specialized saddle it is 12.32kg. I have weighed it on a proper set of digital scales. I think it was quoted at 11.50kg without pedals on the website and the XTs are quoted as 400g so it makes it about 300g heavier than stated which is pretty good I think.

They probably weigh without air in the tyres, forks and shock.

In BMX there was once a company who weighed their frames before powder coating just so they could report the lowest possible (but legal) weight haha.
