Anyone else? bike sitting in the lounge ready to "shred" tinkering with bits i should just leave.. shorts,T,jacket, helmet, eyesavers laid out ready to throw on after munching 3 wheatabix. Ready for the winter slop fest.... sdw
Decided to take the road/gravel bike out tomorrow.
After the deluge of the last 2 days, the trails will not just be muddy, but probably submerged.
Still expecting to get wet as though.
would be interested to take a gravel bike out, bet you can cover some distance.
Round here in East Devon it's perfect if you don't want to go full offroad (though good for that too). There's miles and miles of barely used back roads, unmetalled roads and bridleways.
Planning on doing 90-100km tomorrow, and will probably see bugger all other road users apart from one stretch of B road I have to go on for a mile or so.
sounds good to me, fingers crossed theres not a lot of wind.. im hoping for a few tracks and then a mile muncher through the south downs
I’m heading out to the local Rossendale trails. It’s going to be shockingly wet, but getting out is getting out.

Another local ride later today (just seen the time!). 29er is filthy from muddy rides every day since Thursday, kit is in a pile somewhere in the spare room upstairs and alarm is not set, but weather looks OK so at some point i'll crawl out of bed and spin round the woods for 30km or so in the morning. Probably going to get quite muddy (hoping the Northants clay is still wet and slippy rather than thick and claggy).
Best thing about sloppy mud is it washes off in 2 minutes with the hose.
I'm going out again tomorrow morning!
I was nearly as dirty as if if done an MTB ride!
Lovely weather though 😎 90km and 1500m of climbing around the Devon lanes.
