just thought i,d share my experience.i took my 3 year old carbon rush to the shop leisure lakes for them to have a look at what seemed a paint crack.they agreed it was nothing major and so did the cannondale uk rep ,so i left quite happy.anyway unbeknown to me they had sent some photos to america and 3 weeks later i get a phonecall from leisure lakes saying happy xmas we,ve got a 2010 frame for you and they changed all the bits free of charge.i,m amazed!!andy and the team from derby really are a good bunch ,and cannondale as well.

So both the shop and the rep basically lied to you, let you ride around on a cracked frame, while sneakily sending photos off to someone who actually knows what they are talking about? Would you have been so 'amazed' if the frame had folded in half on you after taking it in for inspection and been told that it was fine?

Having also had a cracked-carbon-'Dale-and-Leisure-Lakes combo (albeit a road frame & Bury), service from both the shop and Cannondale was spot on; got a 2010 frame (which is substantially different to the 2009 frame it replaced) too.

Heh. The point is, how does anyone know the frame is NOT cracked? It might be a bizarre thought, but how about the people concerned being honest and saying "we don't know if it's cracked, so we will send some photos off to our technical dept who have extensive knowledge of frame failures and they will get back to us within a week. The frame might well be fine, but in the meantime we'd recommend that you don't ride the bike". Seeing the injuries that can happen when a frame fails, I'm not sure that this is such a difficult concept to grasp?

Good to hear. I guess they are trying to lose the "crack'n'fail" nick name with a above and beyond level of customer service to nip and negative word of mouth in the bud.
