Hi,
I have a Cannondale Trail 2 XL from 2018, with 2x11 gearing. I changed the chain a while ago, and as far as I remember, I shortened the chain in order to match the length(number of links) of the old one. Some months have passes since I swapped it, but I have only ridden like 200km since then.
But now it seems to me that it might be too long. When I'm in the smallest chainring and cog, the chain almost sits on the chainstay, when not pedaling.
Do any of you own a 2018-2019 Cannondale Trail 29" ? Could you tell me what the correct length of the chain is ?

Wrap the chain around the biggest chainring and biggest rear sprocket. Add a full link. Ignore how long the old chain was or how long anyone else's chain is.
It's also quite possible that the pivot for the cage on the rear mech has become stiff, and isn't allowing it to tension the chain correctly. Working the cage back and forth often sorts it out, and a spot of light lube probably wouldn't go amiss.
Bump. I'll try what hols2 recommended, but I'm still curios what the original length of the chain is.
