Hi
This has probably been asked on the forum before. I have a cannondale prophet frame that I need to fit a tapered set of fox 34 forks to. Just wondering what headset is needed and if anyone has had any experience of fitting one before?
Cheers.
😳
Hope Pick 'n Mix will work.
1 x Hope Pick 'N' Mix Headset Cups (4) Top - 1.5" - 1 1/8" Step Down Traditional (49.57 dia)
1 x Hope Pick 'N' Mix Headset Cups (F) Bottom - 1.5" Traditional (49.57 dia)
Is what you need.
That Hope type 4 didn't fit my jekyll frame (1.5 fitting a tapered fork), but I can't remember the reason why. The KP205 one Rorschach linked to did - think the Hope one must have been too deep, possibly - but something to check.
Cannondale have odd head tube ID so you need a Cannondale KP205 headset. I got mine here:
http://www.cannondalespares.com/Cannondale-Tapered-Headset-1-1_8---1.5--KP205/product_detail/3-40184
It arrived in a couple of days, was easy to fit and works well. Seems pretty good quality as well.
My Prophet has a fork with a 1.125" straight steerer and a normal Hope step-down. It's not a special Dale-only thing.

This is what I run on my Cannondale (Trail sl) which is a true 1.5 steerer tube.
I deleted my link as I did'nt see the Prophet bit. They have straight 1.5" head tubes so the hope will work.Later Cannondales had Integrated headsets (with plain bearings) which need the KP205.
Thanks for the replies, that's saved me a headache working it all out. I know people have mentioned fork crown clearance issues when changing prophet forks. Will get on the hope website now.
Might even be worth asking Hope, just to make sure.
Super annoying waiting for something to arrive only to find it doesn't fit!
It'll fit. I have those exact headset cups fitted to a Prophet.

Yesterday I measured the old adapter that came out of my Prophet and it was bang on 49.70mm.
The lower F cup will be thinner than the adapter's 18mm but you should still have enough fork clearance. I certainly do with a RCT Revelation, albeit with a 1.125 step down.
