I have the 2017 105 variant of the Slate turning up early next week under the n+1 rules of engagement, and even without riding it I'm not convinced their spec choice of a 52/36 crank is a good call on this style of bike. (Pretty hilly where I live, on and off road)
Am I at least likely to be able to just swap the rings to a 50/34 combo, or even 46/34.

Any five arm 110bcd rings will fit, fairly standard road rings.
