I'm new to the forum and to MTB in general so be gentle with me.
This morning a bought a pre loved Canondale Scalpel 800, but i notice that the fork need to be changed.
now i'm asking you which fork can i put? i need technical spec so i will be search it on line/ebay.
what do i need to replace it?
is something i can do by myself?
thanks for your input.
What fork is it? Why does it need changing? If its a headshok or lefty, it'll probably be fine with a service or rebuild
If its a Cannondale which has a 1.5inch head tube with the correct headset in you can fit virtually any fork
1,1/8th Fork with headset reducers
Tapered Fork(Which has a steerer which reduces from 1.5inches to 1 1/8th)
Straight 1.5inch fork
Cannondale Headshok
And lastly
Cannondale Lefty.
Main question is why does the fork require replacing?
I have recharge the fork, I will keep checking it, so far seem the just the air leaked
Might be worth resetting the needle bearing too. It's an easy 5min job.
