You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Afternoon all.. I am in the process of stripping down my 2008 Bad Boy. I want to go to a front brake only setup, so I need to pull out the internal rear brake cable.
While pulling the old one out, it is a very tight fit, and I wonder how on earth would a new one slide back in if I change my mind in 6 months and want to put a rear brake back on.
Replacing the cable would be easy, I could use the old one as a pull rope. But putting a fresh cable in looks mighty awkward.
Surely this has been mentioned before on the tinterweb but I cant find any info about it..?
Any advice?
Meds.
Dunno about this frame specifically but it's generally do-able, if a fankle.
It's a massive ballache getting a new cable or hose back in, exacerbated by the rough hole cutting where the hose exits and enters.
It may get easier with practice though.. I've only had to do one.
use an inner cable easier to get through the hole. then use that to guide the outer through.
its a pain but doable.
