Has anyone done this?
I wouldn't normally dream of it, it will be a rip off (not looked yet) and the roads around there are fast so I reckon they will be unpleasant to ride on?
Talk me into it...

I road the autumn one. They changed the route a bit as it was so wet before it. There was perhaps a bit too much road as a result. But the roads were perfectly pleasant and the organisers were clearly being pro active about making it a good event. I met up with some friends and had a good day
