I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these for my strive but have just stumbled across a thread where lots of people have had a knocking noise that CC werent able to sort out for them, just that they were aware of the problem but it didnt affect performance.
anyone know anything about this?
I have one, never heard of or indeed heard that problem
Something to do with the CS engaged causing a clunking sound and feeling like a worn DU bush, seems very common issue, even a thread on here about it..
Never had the a clucking on mine either.
something to do with the rebound circuit. no actual issue with performance and you don't notice it on the downs. Mine had it and it disappeared with a service. No issues where reported by TFT on the shock.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending one.
Had mine for over a year and no problems at all.
Mine does it, it's really intermittent and really annoying. The shock still works awesome in open mode even with it.
I spoke to TF tuned about it and it is covered under warranty. I've just not got around to sending to them yet.
Ah that sounds ok then, if it does clunk at least its fixable under warranty
cheers chaps
On my third, first two had this issue, this one seems ok, although not a great fan of it and only use on uplift as it detracts from climbing efficiency significantly.
Mine has been ok, survived a long weekend in Fortwilliam that a previous Inline air didnt...
Climbing is much better (more traction) compared to the Monarch RT I have also, Bird Aeris.

Mine had a slight clunk with the climb switch on but never too bad!
Then on Sunday just setting off down Wanna Scar the damper shaft snapped where it threads in the bottom eye!
argh I'm properly torn now, I'm currently riding a rs monarch plus with debonair, but this has developed the open setting notch at about 25% travel, its also really annoying as despite 7 spacers (yes 7!) it still blows through its travel and its over inflated to 260psi and i'm 12.5 stone but so many reliability stories with the CC I don't know what to do.
may look at the vivid r2c !
I got one to replace the Fox DPS on my Jeffsy and it has transformed the bike; only had it 6 months or so, ordered from TF who gave it the once over before sending it and can't say I've noticed any clunking. I could never really get the DPS sorted so I was using all the travel but still felt like it was walking well over small bumps. The CC Coil IL is so much better for riding everything. The traction when climbing is great, and sure it moves about more when pedalling, but I don't use the climb switch. I'd need a lot of convincing to go back to a coil shock for my everyday (well, every weekend) trail riding.
but so many reliability stories with the CC
????????????????
not many on here POAH but other forums there seem to be loads of issues.
not seen anything that would suggest any issue
I got one on my rocket Carl. Had it for about 5 months and had no problems, I’ve got to say it’s been fantastic. You’re more than welcome to throw your leg over the rocket if you are still in the area?
Hi jay. Yes would be good to meet up again at some point, maybe with Chris also.

Maybe read the comments above yours then, where people are saying they've had this issue?
Sheesh.

it isn't an issue though - the shock still works as it should. Mine did it for a bit.
At Bolt Then on Sunday just setting off down Wanna Scar the damper shaft snapped where it threads in the bottom eye!
Can I ask what was it fitted on ?
Jeffsy 29er.
To be fair I had fallen off a few miles before (front wheel slild out on wet grass) and l landed on the bike, snapping a spoke and knocking the brake lever round on the bars.
Maybe I twisted or weighted the shock from the side.
Going to send it to toTF for repair as it is has been fantastic up til this?

Some people put stickers over warning lights on the dashboard of their car too :-). This is a product with some very wildly reported issues. Bury your head in the sand all you want. You might be lucky, but if you want an easy life (i.e. avoid the hassle of having to send it away for repair), it's worth considering something else.
Cheers Bolt ,might have had something to do with it 😉
