Put air in my DB IL shock this afternoon. Its on a 2016 Banshee Spitfire frame. Shock was sitting at just under 140psi so I wanted to top it up as im about 85kg and the sag was about 45-50% at current pressure. I pumped it up to 160psi and removed the shock pump. I put the shock pump back on to double check the pressure and it had dropped to 125 psi. Tried to raise the pressure a few times but it doesnt seem to want to stay about 130ish psi.

Time for it to be serviced?

Any help would be great. Cheers

If you cannot get the correct sag then yes, it seems like the shock is leaking.

Do keep in mind that the pump will always show a lower reading due to the fact that the hose and the gauge will fill up with air from the shock when you connect it.

Sounds like this is what you're seeing. Does the sag increase over a couple of weeks if you're not attaching a pump to check all the time? 🙂 If not, no issue.

Could be the hose and shock filling up with air by the sounds of it. I did try and pump the shock up beyond 150psi earlier but it didnt seem to make any difference to the sag, stayed at about 45-50%. I didnt want to pump it up too much incase the pump wasnt giving a true reading and I blew the shock up.
