Any Bronson owners that have fitted a CCDB CS shock I'd appreciate your feed back, how you've got on with set up & how it compares to the standard Kashima ctd shock, I like the poppy feel of the back end of the original & hope that can be retained on the DB CS.

I tried a friends 650B five with one fitted & was impressed, interested in how a Bronson rides with one fitted.

Cheers Mark

Unsure if you can read this on FB, but I met a guy at Swinley who had one on his bike so asked the same question - think he may post on here too:

Now that my 34s have been transformed I am very tempted to try one although I have never been unimpressed by the standard shock. Seems to do everything I ask of it.

I swapped from a fox float X to a CCDB-CS Bronson-tune a few weeks back. Nothing but impressed so far. No real difference I can tell on the uphill but the downs are just massively more composed. I used to feel like occasionally I'd get a bit of a bucking from the back end and there's none of that at all with the CCDB. I've also not felt the need to use the CS yet, which is probably a good thing. Maybe dives through travel slightly more than the fox though so need to play with LSC a bit as I got a pedal strike where I wouldn't ordinarily - but that's still me getting used to the shock and tweaking it.

Just, don't forget that there is a specific bronson tuned CCDB-CS which has different internals to the stock CCDB-CS. Namely that it's got a mechanical negative spring. Idea in it seems to be that SC found it was diving through the initial part of the stroke too quickly and this sorts that out. I've not used a non bronson tuned one on my bronson though so couldn't say if that's true or not.

As gardron says, the Bronson tune on the DB Air is pretty specific and is one reason they don't offer an Inline shock as you can't physically fit all the gubbins inside one. Santa Cruz have just added them to their UK online store too
