It is going to be ever so slightly more viscous, so maybe don't mix it and expect a slightly slower something (maybe return), but probably only slightly slower.

Not a trained mechanic and I've not tried that myself.

I’d just whack it in, it can’t be that different. There’s no issue mixing oil weights by the way, you’ll just end up with a weight somewhere between the two.

thats what I thought. best to mix it then its more like 2.75w.

the(new) post is sagging a half inch when i sit on it.  i  dont know what to do about it yet, but if i need to order 2.5w i better get on the case

Maybe it has a vent valve!

Send it back if you don't want to be venting it every other ride.

Oil wt isn't an accurate measure of viscosity. Like comparing one brands medium against someone else's large.

It will probably be fine. If it's too slow then you know you need to go and buy something lighter.

It was the Vent Valve that needed doing!

I had no idea that there was one

Thanks!

I've tried my vent valve and it hasn't fixed the 3mm drop...going to check the air pressure in the seat as that might need topped up (I'm hoping that fixes it).
