I have seen a decent deal on a set of revs but they come with the pop loc thing, something I dont really want. Can you just leave it off and a run the forks always active??

In a word, yes. You can even undo the spring internally so that you can adjust compression just like the non Poploc version.

Just take the thing off if you don't want to use it. The compression adjustment thingy don't work. On mine, any way. It's a cheap shoddy control knob thingy.
Take if off, smash it with a hammer.
Then stand over it and laugh, mockingly.
