I just cant work it out, if I'm wearing bib shorts and a thermal base layer do I put the base layer under the bibs straps or over? I have to ride to work in the morning and don't know what to do, my only pair of shorts are in the wash! 😀😀

Underneath in case you’re caught short!

This is the correct answer.
Also the reason why it's preferable to have a full length zip on your cycling jersey

If it's warm, bib shorts then top.
If it's cold, top, bib shorts, top, bib longs, top, windproof

Depends if you're wearing anything over the baselayer.
If you're wearing a jersey or a jacket, base under bibs. If your baselayer is your only top layer, wear it over the bibs...

One of each. That way you only need to take one side off if you need a wee.

If you need to put your HRM on after getting dressed, bib first. If you need a poo after getting dressed and don't want to get nekkid, base layer first.

I’ve gone back to non bibs so I can take a leak easier. Life’s alot easier on all dayers. Not so hot in summer either and don’t interfere with layering. And cheaper. Not the current (roadie) fashion but they have some practicalities.

I managed to get to work and was already to have an emergency poo if necessary.

Baselayer goes close to skin, bibs go in bin unless you're a toddler and shorts on legs

Sorted

Compression top helps t even out the flab and preven an oddly high front muffin top created by the bibs.

I knew there were lots of old men on here. He's only riding to work - I ride 45 minutes each way and can cope without a pea (for a while longer as well) Am I a lucky 52yr old? Will it be long before I start to work out where on my route I can peel off layers to evacuate? (Better not use the main roads, perhaps?)
