Pick your tyre and just convert it. I'm commuting on 28mm Gator skinz on an Arch rim with yellow tape and valves. Run them at 80 psi and I'm about 15 stone. Works a treat.

Oh, but I did pick the steel beaded ones just to be safe.

I have just fitted schwalbe marathon extreme 1.6 (42cc approx)to my 29" crest rims set up tubless. Inflated with out problem using track pump. Not to heavy, roll well but still have a good bit of grip for off road. If thats to wide they do smaller ones as well.

Depends what Marathons you look at. The extreme for 40c (just checked web site) come in at 525g per tire. Some of the tires in the Marathon range are very heavy, these ones are at at the lighter end of the range.

*ironic "heh"* I meant 400gm and furry muff re. the light marathons.

Mine turned out to measure 35 rather than 42, so it's going back 😡 I may try a Jones 1.8 and trim the knobs down 😀
