Can you make a living as a mountain bike guide in the UK? I'm guessing you'd earn peanuts and it would detract from riding a as hobby. Is anyone making a decent living from it already? Does anyone know what the going rate for a qualified SMBLA?

No real intention to do this but I'm intrigued none the less. Always wondered if there is any scope for a chalet type biking/guide buisness in the uk?

Very difficult to make any kind of decent living as a guide alone. Supplementing earnings with Bikeability training or bike shop work are options I guess but you'd have to be guiding a lot of people on a daily basis to make it work on it's own.
