I've just swapped out my much loved Shimano DX30s for some Superstar Nanotech pedals as I wanted something with a larger platform and the Nanotech (under various brands) seem to be really highly rated.
The Shimanos were thick, but this allowed them a nice concave shape the cupped the ball of the foot whilst the thin profile Nanotechs seem pefectly flat. In fact I'm very aware of just feeling the central ridge of the pedals through which the axle runs, whilst pedaling and they seem much more slippy than the DX30s as a result.
I've only ridden them once and I guess that I need to get the soles of my shoes scuffed up by them (there are some nice roughed up areas from the pins of the DX30s that they hook into) but I'm wondering whether there's a longer pin option. They're the through-pin model.
IIRC they are standard bolts so you can just put any of the right size in. Can't remember what size they are though. The superstarcomponents website has the details somewhere I'm sure. You could always try to email and ask?
They're M4 bolts. I just bought some 10mm ones and stuck them in, they feel pretty long and really grippy. You could order M4's in any size if you wanted to?
Cheers, I'll have a look around.
