Hi all,

I immediately dislike the remote lockout feature.

Can I convert it to a manual lockout without much hassle?

I found this thing:

It's not a massive issue, but if I could change it relatively easily, for the sake of simplicity, I would.

Cheers,

FM

I converted my Fit4 remote lockout to a manual one. Took about 10 mins to do. Fox said I needed 2 kits; one with the lever and one to replace the top of the damper assembly that screws into the stanchion. I just used the first kit with the lever which was about £15 and it works fine.

No idea about the Grip damper though.

I just took the cable off mine and left it at that. Never used lockout on a fork anyway and ‘upgrade’ was free.

Yep, easier on a grip as it's just the parts above.

Fit4 now has a different u-cup for remote lockout forks that's a slightly different size, but importantly deletes the indent spring/bb pocket so you can't have the "3 clicks" without replacing the cup as well.

Grip doesn't need 3 specific positions as it's continuously variable compression at all positions though so that wave washer does the job.

If you're selling on the remote lever afterwards, let me know. Mine is currently held together with random bolts and washers.
