Just found a brand new Sram PC971 9spd chain. I run a 1x10, narrow wide, Zee rear mech/SLX chainset. Will it work? Or will atoms collide?

Nope, it won't fit between the cogs on the cassette AFAIK

I've used 9 speed chains on 10 speed transmission before by mistake.
Works but not very well.
